Adobe Creates 3D Camera Technology
Adobe Systems developed a technology that allows you to create a photo with multiple angles and depth of view settings within one photograph. By changing the way you capture an image, you can create results that are now physically impossible. It can also save time, money and repetitive work when editing photos. The new 3D tech involves a special insect`s compound eye-like camera and software.
"This is something you cannot do with a physical camera. With the
combination of that lens and your digital darkroom, you have what we
call computational photography. Computational photography is the future
of photography," said
Dave Story, vice president of digital imaging product development at Adobe.
Starting with this 3D lens which can shoot 19 images from slightly different angles, it transmits the images to the camera. Once you get all these various images into a PC, the result is a photograph with multiple sub-views. There comes Adobe's software magic to work, determining where objects are located in the scene and then allowing you to address those objects according to their depth.
