Who is this book for?
According to Packt this book is suitable for web developers, designers, webmasters, content editors and marketing professionals who want develop a fully featured web presence in a simple and straightforward process. It does not require any detailed knowledge of programming or web development, and any IT confident individual will be able to use the book to produce an impressive web site. Which is entirely true, however the contents might be too basic for advanced developers.
Conclusion
This book will save you a lot of time as it is a worthy addition to the online Joomla documentation. The print quality and language could be better at times but the overall content is good enough to appeal to most beginning and intermediate Joomla! users. Although the book walks you trough every possible menu item it would be even better if the book used a case of building a site instead of just explaining the functionality. On the bright side, the book shows you how to expand your CMS with modules and components and it shows you how to create your own website templates. All things considered this book provides a very complete reference and a worthy bestseller of Packt Publishing.
