November 2006 Issue
The engine behind every website
Photoshop, CSS and JavaScript, those are the ingredients behind many of today’s websites and applications. Every website needs a design, and most websites use photographs, that’s when Photoshop comes into the picture. CSS helps you to position your elements using efficient and cross browser compatible code. And last but not least JavaScript helps you to create the functionality and navigation of your website.
Linda shows you how to recognize and use techniques that will improve photographs and create additional effects on those photos. After that Linda illustrates how to use Photoshop to adjust tonal ranges and color balances within your images manually so that you are in full control over the appeal of your images.
Rachel will show you how use simple CSS positioning techniques, using absolute positioning and float to create a simple layout.
Then it’s time to learn how to display images in a Photo Album using CSS. Rachel shows you how to use the float property in CSS, which has a whole range of uses and can be put to use in creating interesting and creative effects in your designs.
Furthermore we will continue to develop a cross-browser compatible Rich Text Editor using JavaScript. In the previous edition of our e-Magazine we designed a layout for our editor and developed most of the text editing and formatting features. In this edition we’ll start working on the interface.
