database for sales

Hi i need help on creating a database in microsoft access that you can enter products and their prices, and be able to run reports that will give you the current price forthe products as well as the prices you had a few months ago. I managed to make a database that you can enter product names and prices and it does the math for you according to sales, but the problem i keep getting is that it culculates past transactions by the current prices can anyone please help me to find a way to keep past transactions static and not to be affected by the price changes

If you are using this for sales, it would be better to have a table with the Sales in, with the Product ID, and the Price the product was when it sold, separate from the Product table which holds the current price.
This is how you would set up an ecommerce site database, so the price, colours, size etc for the product ordered where fixed, rather then referencing a second table, as you end up with the details changing as you have found, and not being true for the date of sale.
