Celestial view by Google Earth
Google launched an add-on to Google Earth which allows computer users to tour space and watch stars and constellations. The new tool is called Google Sky.
Imagery for the system came from six research institutions including the Digital Sky Survey Consortium, the Palomar Observatory in California and the United Kingdom Astronomy Technology Centre. One function will overlay maps and charts onto the night sky, describing famous constellations such as Orion, Andromeda and Cassiopeia.
To use Google Sky, users will need to have Google Earth installed on their computer.
