Google Phone All But Confirmed by New Plates of Details
Judging upon the Boston Globe article and Om Malik's five facts "from a reliable source", it seems like the Google Phone is very likely to be more then just a rumour.
Sources say the Google Phone will be Linux-based and will run Java apps.
The new Google Phone UI will entirely be in Java, the browser is likely to be Java based too. It will also play multimedia files, and the OS will be running on "3-to-5 devices, most of them likely made by HTC. Still, the UI is "typical of mobiles phones," meaning it's not groundbreaking. Yet, "the browser might be based on the same engine that's in Safari the iPhone (WebKit), and Google's supposedly been tweaking it to make it speedier", says the journalist Matt Buchanan.
From Engadget confirm that Google’s entry into mobile phone business is for real, and the company is going to announce it soon.
