Next Firefox will tell Google all about you
The next version of Firefox, Gran Paradiso will have a function that will tell Google all the users browsing habits. This feature is disabled by default.
Gran Paradiso will include a form of malware protection that will check every URL against a known list of sites. It does so by sending each URL to Google. Then Google "can sell this information or offer advertising companies lucrative product information packages", warns the Inquirer.
However, only the user can decide if to rely on Google to protect him against phishing sites and let Google get a wealth of information about which sites are popular or not.
