Google Analytics expands tracking capabilities
Google has updated their popular Google Analytics service to begin tracking Ajax and Flash-based requests. This update will allow developers to leverage Ajax, JavaScript and Flash without the worry of losing valuable stats data.
Google Analytics is a software which companies use as an enterprise analytics package to watch over their websites and plan their design strategy.
Google Analytics is opening a feature for beta testing that tracks user
engagement with elements that have become common with Web 2.0 services,
including Javascript, Ajax and Flash applications, widgets and gadgets,
and downloadable pages. This will considerably refine on measurement of how users interact with these services applied on websites, since pageviews become a less important metric than they used to be.
Other new tools will be aimed at assisting online retailers and
marketers in examining how effective their page designs are at
convincing consumers to buy products or use the site in a certain way.
Experts suggested that the new enhancements will also favor greatly online advertising. More and more advertising rates use valuable metrics like
time spent on the page or how long the advertisement is visible instead of standard tools like page views.
