I am definitely interested in this software. But it is on the pricey side, and I would very much want to try it out and make sure it works as expected in my environment, before parting with that amount of money.

We do not offer trials yet, but to try the ePub Manager out the best is just to take a simple monthly subscription for only 49 Euro / $57 USD so you can try every extension we offer!
And if you like them just keep the subscription if not you can cancel it directly so it won't be renewed.
