DMX 2004 hasn't improved the convert table to layer function. It essentially trashes any tables page. Don't now why they even have that function available.

Will give more observations as I continue to use it.

I'm running it on a 1.33 Ghz with 256Mb ram under Windows XP and it runs fine. It is a little bit slower to load than MX, but once it's loaded the response time seems to be about the same.

I've never used the Tables to Layers command myself before, but I just tried it on a document and it made a bit of a hash of it!

Why do you need to run this function?
Far better to just start with layers in the first place.

The MM Dreamweaver users forum is full of DW experts daily advice to avoid a) convert tables/layers and b) avoid Layout View.

I found its running faster on my P4 2.8 Ghz than DWMX. There are a few annoying issues such as the Properties Inspector being partially hidden when the palettes are open, and it seems to be moving template code around for templates created in MX. I'm still investigating the latter - hopefully it won't cause too many problems!

I don't see all that many new things in DW2004. Of course I have to spend most of my time in the trial trying to find all the things I use to use that are placed elsewhere.

I am also very ticked about the "free upgrade" from Studio Plus because here we sit without a way to apply for the upgrade and customer service can only tell us "keep checking back on our site".

Give me a break! I am your paying customer! Tell me WHEN I can get my upgrade. Don't make me fax in information you already have - I bought the product from you and you have a record. So since *I* am the honest, good customer, send me the new serial number when you finally get things together and don't have ME jumping through hoops because YOU weren't ready to give the upgrade as you should have been.

I like the FW2004 upgrade but I have to tell you Macromedia - I'm so angry with the treatment over the "free upgrade" and the product activation scheme, I may not remain your honest, loyal customer much longer.
