DMXzone Data Importer and Exporter Reference

In this article you'll find detailed overview of the features, included in DMXzone Data Importer and DMXzone Data Exporter extensions. Although these are 2 stand alone extensions and need to be purchased separately, their features are pretty similar so we decided to put them together in this reference article. Below you can see every option included.

Features

DMXzone Data Importer

The extension allows to import data from CSV and XML files. The options for both are the same therefore below you'll see examples of importing data from CSV file.

Name

Under the import CSV file properties, add a name for this step.

Path

Select the path from the dynamic data button for the file to be imported.

Contains Header

Check this checkbox if your CSV file contains a header row with the column names.

Import Fields

If your CSV file does not have a header row with the column names you'll have to add the column names manually. Just click the add new button to add a column and name it. Keep in mind that you need to add all of your CSV columns here.

Delimiter

You can change the default delimiter from this field.

DMXzone Data Exporter

The extension allows to export data to CSV and XML files. The options for both are the same therefore below you'll see examples of exporting data to CSV file.

Name

Under the export CSV file properties, add a name for this step.

Path

Select the path, where the exported file will be saved. It can be any CSV file within a folder on your server.

Export Data

Choose the data that you want to export, by selecting the database query.

Contains Header

Select whether the exported file should contain a header or not.

Delimiter

From here you can change the default delimiter.

Overwrite

Select whether to overwrite the exported file or to create a new one on each export.
