Adobe Wins Patent Trial Against Macromedia

This is BS

This is like saying that because my hammer looks and works the same as yours, i'm going to sue you.

No New Thing

Patents are issued for many notions that are way too common to be considered original. But if Amazon can patent the number of clicks it takes a user to add an item to a shopping cart, I guess anything can be patented.

Just because someone if the first to apply for a patent, doesn't mean they had a truely original idea. Tabbed interfaces have been around a long time; Adobe did not invent them.

The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:8)

BS Maybe but imagine if the bloke who DID invent the hammer had patented it!

Will this affect the release of Dreamweaver MX . . .

and if so, is there anything we, as users of Macromedia products (and probably Adobe products), do.

I personally do not use Adobe products unless absolutely necessary. Would it do any good for Macromedia devotees to boycott using, purchasing or supporting Adobe products?

Just a thought.

Adobe are sour cus they calnt compete with macromedia

I hope macromedia runs adobe off the face of the planet. Adobe stuff is over priced and no where near as user friendly. Ps7.0 wow a few extra features and a bigger price tag. Freehand vs Illustrator (we know where its good). Dreamweaver pisses all over Golive and adobe hate that. I think macromedia are still the winners because all adobe are doing are playing dirty cus they just calnt cut it in the web arena.

All salute macromedia cus with them the web really can be.....

Tough one

My first love was Adobe, but c'mon now, whining about tabs??
when I hear "adobe" I think of the acrobat reader and photoshop.

When I hear "macromedia" I think of the baddest pieces of software to ever hit the industry. if it wasn't for them, we'd be in the stone ages with web design. Sure there are other companies that make web-type software, but lets face it. go to www.adobe.com then www.macromedia.com and tell me what you think.

Dont get me wrong. I love both companies, but macromedia has streamlined just about every program they create, so the look and feel is retained no matter what product of theirs you are using.

If I had to choose, It would be MACROMEDIA!!
After all..  I dont belong to adobezone.com   ;-)
