Dreamweaver CS5.5 is crashing on My Mac (10.7.3) if I use the create Active Slideshow button, from the DMXzone folder within the Dreamweaver Toolbar.

And it crashes if I try to use Commands --> Active Slideshow or Update Active Slideshow Pro.

And it also crashes if I use the Preview or Edit Advanced buttons in the Property Inspector.

This problem just started within the last couple of days. Prior to this it had been a bit "quirky" but still working.

However, the Preview Slide has NEVER WORKED on my Mac. So I just have to guess at what the slide transitions will look like.

Dreamweaver creates a cache file called MacFileCache-********.dat inside your personal Dreamweaver configuration folder. This occasionally gets corrupted causing instability, unpredictable error messages, and even crashes.

Mac OS X: Macintosh HD:<username>:Library:Application Support:Adobereamweaver CSx:<language>:Configuration

This Folder does not exist on my iMac --> Macintosh HD:<username>:Library:Application Support:Adobereamweaver CS5.5

Now what?

The library folder is hidden by default on your MAC OS.

OK, I did this, but it shows two MacFileCache files, in the folders listed below:

Configuration
Configuration-1

Perhaps this could be part of the problem?

The MacFileCache files both have the same name: MacFileCache-C92F77BA.dat

The Configuration-1 folder has not been accessed since January 12, 2012.
The Configuration folder was accessed yesterday.

Should I delete the Configuration-1 folder?

OK, after deleting the MacFileCache file, the problem still exists.

I deleted it from both Configuration locations.

When I press any of the interface buttons for Active Slideshow Pro (listed above), then Dreamweaver immediately crashes.

Property Inspector:
- Preview
- Edit Advanced

DMXzone Folder:
- Active Slideshow Pro

I have figured out a very crude work-around. I clone previous Active Slideshows from other sites, and then edit the .xml file. This is a very time-consuming process, to do this manually. It also ends up being trial and error on the slide transitions, because I have to pick a number between 0 and 9 for the transition. So I guess incorrectly as much as I get it right.

All of my other DMXzone extensions are working properly. So are my extensions from other vendors. It is just this one that is causing Dreamweaver to crash.

I really need this fixed quickly. It is impacting my business. I have over 100 sites that have an Active Slideshow on them... and three in development, that I can no longer work on.

I also have Dreamweaver CS5, and the problem does not occur with this version.

Only Dreamweaver CS5.5 is crashing using Active slideshow Pro.

still waiting... this is working OK in Dreamweaver CS5, but not CS5.5 (on a MAC).

Also, while you're working on it, the preview window in Edit Advanced --> Slides --> Slide Preview has never worked on my MAC. The Slide Preview PopUp window launches, but it's a black screen. And once it's open, there's no way to close the Slide Preview window.

I am an experienced user now, but someone who is new would probably like to take advantage of this little Slide Preview window, to preview the effect they have applied. It's a pain to have to watch an entire slide show with 20+ slides to see the effect of any new changes.
