Cant Access my Body Tag

Hi Guys,Im hoping someone can guide me..
Im following this tutorial www.dmxzone.com/go?17627&LinkFile=advanced_creating_slide.htm
I can get the sliding panel to pop up and down as the steps in the tutorial show you exactly what to do.
I did this on a basic page with no template or editable regions attached to it.
But I need to do this on a page thats based on a template with editable regions and it wont let me access the pages <body> tag to add the onLoad events in my tag inspector.
What Can I do is ther a way round this or can I not use a page from a template?
I tried to put the <body> tags into an editable region thinking that would solve it but it wont let me do thats either... :-(
So im lost sadly and would welcome advise :-)

You will have to apply this to your template file. Unfortunately it is not possible to modify the <body> tag when you are using a page created from a template.
