Hi all,Can anyone explain to me why when I move the google map marker (after typing a town into autocomplete to set the initial marker), I am unable to move the marker away from roads.
What I am trying to do is get the user to type in a nearest town to set the marker close to their event and then need them to move the marker to their exact event location e.g. a beach, field, etc...
Unfortunately when I try this the marker always snaps back to the nearest road.
Thanks in advance.

Hello David,
That is a Google Limitation when you are using Driving Directions.
Others - Walking and Bicycling are in a beta faze. You can try those if you like.

Hi Miroslav,
Currently I do not use the directions extensions. This is happening purely with the ajax autocomplete and google map extensions. Are you recommending I procure the directions extension to implement the walking feature?

Hello David,
I'm sorry I didn't realize.
Well the limitation comes from google itself. If you try the very same thing on maps.google.com you will experience same restriction.
