If I want to insert a link to a document in any browser BUT IE, I can highlight existing text, go to the file manager, locate the document and then click the link button. The highlighted text becomes a link to the document.

However, in IE 9&10, (not sure about other versions), If I highlight the text and click the Link button for a selected document, nothing happens. The insert only works if nothing is selected. Then it will insert a link using the file name as the text

Hello Chuck.

We spoke in the support chat.
Can you please clear your IE browser cache file and try again to place link on the page?

Regards:Vulcho.

Cleared the cache, and it still does not work. I used developer tools and IE 8 and IE 9 are not working (in compatibility mode). In addition, I have tried this on three computers...all exhibit the same issue.

Hello Chuck,

As it is described on the Features In Details page:

QuoteYou can select any file and choose if you want to link to it or insert it in the current editor. If you have selected an existing link in the editor, it will be edited otherwise a new one will be inserted.

So in the current version of the file manager addon we do support only an existing link change.

That's why there is a "Select using File Manager" button as on this screenshot. Using it you can link to any file in any browser.
