Hello Steve,
It seems you are trying to use the old method of setting up the security provider. It should be done through the Server Connect now. Please check the following tutorials:

Why has there been such a dramatic change in the way these functions are controlled. Both interfaces are still available and it is very confusing to get the steps accomplished. I have been trying with limited success to not only get a successful login through a database, but also create a successful logout button.

I have spent a fortune keeping all of my extensions up to date and now with all these major changes to their functionality I am having to recreate an entire website for a client in order to deal with all the extension changes just in order to give them some requested added features.

While there is no doubt that your extensions are well made and have a great number functions and flexibility, it seems they are getting very complicated to implement or to update existing sites that utilize them.

You do not have thorough printed user manuals anymore, not only to explain all the major changes, but to clearly document all of the extension features. It is very frustrating for me and my client is getting frustrated waiting for the desired changes while I'm having to completely relearn how to recreate the site with your extension's new interfaces.

Since the major changes to the Database Connector and Security provider, why wasn't a migration script created to bring existing sites up to date with the necessary changes to allow continued functionality and future additions to a persons site? Instead we are left to relearn the entire implementation all over again and having to recreate entire sites from the ground up just to add on to them after the updates to the components.

A response to my inquiries would be greatly appreciated or do I need to start considering alternatives to your extensions?
