Just installed Lightbox2 but it doesn't work properly. www.dmxzone.com/images/forum/smilies/icon_smile_sad.png

Problem 1:
I tried to add an image to a new gallery with thumbnails. I chose an image and a destination folder in the image resizer and when I tried to execute the following message was shown:

"While executing onClick in dmxResizer2.htm the following Javascript error(s) occurred:
At line 405 of the file "C:\Users\User\Roaming\DreamweaverCC2014\en_US\Configuration\Shared\DMXzone\Components\UI\ImageResizer2\dmxResizer2.js": dmxResizer2 is not defined."

I reinstalled the extension but the same thing happened. I am using DreamweaverCC with Windows 7.

Problem 2:
I was able to successfully install a Lightbox thumbnail link. The popup showed the image filename or a title at the top and an About button that opens a window advertising your extension and a Tools button that allows the user to change the presentation of the lightbox popup at the bottom. This happens on my testing server and on a web-server. How do I remove the image file/title and the buttons?

Do you have a new version that fixes problem 1 and has provision to show/remove the items in problem 2

Hi John,
Problem 1: Try clearing your DW cache: www.dmxzone.com/go/16740/clearing-dreamweaver-s-cache/

Problem 2: You can turn these on or off by clicking manage lightbox configuration presets in the DMXzone Lightbox Menu, and then edit the preset that you are using.

Yeah, gotta say I was a bit disappointed with this one.

No styling in the thumbnails at all and setting the theme does not work you have to set the theme for each individual image in the gallery. Thank heavens for DW find and replace.

The original poster in this thread is likely experiencing the same thing I am with not being able to remove the settings and info buttons. Have to go into each individual image and turn it off.

Kind of a pain.

Hi Brad,
What do you mean by: "no styling in the thumbnails" what stylings exactly do you need for thumbnails?
Also - the info buttons are theme related, so you can edit the theme you are using by just going to "Edit lightbox configuration presets" and enable/disable the features you need there, then the changes are applied to ALL elements using it...

By styling of thumbnails I mean the preview and the actual output are nothing alike.

In the preview it is all nicely arranged with nice spacing and borders but the actual output is one big block of images. Then you have to go into the giant block of code and set classes to each and every thumbnail one by one to add any spacing or anything to the thumbnails.

I'm having the same problem as John Dulley, that is his problem no. 1. Teodor's solution (clearind dw cache) does not change anything. Anybody else?

Did they give you a refund? Because I found this same issue about 4 days after you did. I wound up switching to HTML5Box which is still pretty and the gallery is simple to code. It is not plug and chug like lightbox, but it requires like no brain power to figure out. How can I get my refund?

Because I didn't get a reply I have sent another email to support@ asking for a refund. I know it is the festive season but I would think I would get a response by now.

I will manually code Lightbox and Shadowbox from now on because I know that they work.

Hi John,
The product is pretty well tested before the release. I am asking you to provide the exact steps, prior to seeing this message, so we can find where the problem with your machine/DW is.
also:
1. What is the DW version you are using?
2. What is your OS?
3. Are you using DMXzone Extension Manager in order to install it?

Teodor,

The good news is that I got it working ok but the background is bizarre and there were still a couple of problems.
1. I am using Dreamweaver CS3 and CC, Windows 7 64 bit, and I was using normal Dreamweaver Extension Manager to install the CC version.
2. I uninstalled the extension via the DW CC EM and then installed via DMX EM and it worked.
3. When I purchased the extension the CS mxp version was not available. It is now and I downloaded it and installed via DW CS3 EM and it didn't work - got the javascript error again.
4. I uninstalled via DW CS3 EM and then installed again via DMX EM and it worked.

Conclusion - there is an incompatibility between this extension and the normal DW Extension Managers (maybe running Windows 7 64 bit)..

Important note - if you are installing Lightbox on a page controlled by a DW Template this instruction will not be created "<script type="text/javascript" src="ScriptLibrary/jquery-latest.pack.js"></script>". The solution is to add this code manually to the editable part of the head or include it in the template head content. It should be at the top of the head as this instruction needs to be run before any other js code. I had the same problem with DMX galleries and nivo slider extensions that use jquery.

This should be included in the help files for all of these extensions.

Hello John,
When using DMXzone EM, you do not need to uninstall the extension first. You can just hit the reinstall button inside it.
The MXP extension has always been on the product page, there are two buttons - Download ZXP and Download MXP. But using DMXzone EM you do not even need to go to our site to download the MXP/ZXP .. it automatically does this for you when you click the install button.
We are going to investigate if this is an issue with Adobe EM.
Anyway - we highly recommend yo to download and install the DMXzone Extension Manager, It offers much greater install/update experience, than the slow and buggy Adobe EM. Also it does not require entering your username, password and serial number for each of the extensions that you install.

As for your templates.. most probably your template markup is wrong and it is missing an editable region named "head" inside the head tags, so DW does not know where to place the jquery include.

My experience is this:

1. When I insert a Lightbox Link I have no problem, it works fine.

2. If I try to insert a Lightbox Thumbnail Link this happens I get this error message when I try to choose an image:
"While executing onClick in dmxLightboxInsertThumbLink.htm, the following JawaScript error(s) occurred:
In file "dmxLightboxInsertThumbLink": browseFile is not defined"
I can only push OK and dont get my Thumbnail Link.

3. Trying to insert a new Lightbox Gallery i get the exact same error as John Dulley, that is:
"While executing onClick in dmxResizer2.htm the following Javascript error(s) occurred:
At line 405 of the file "C:\Users\User\Roaming\DreamweaverCC2014\en_US\Configuration\Shared\DMXzone\Components\UI\ImageResizer2\dmxResizer2.js": dmxResizer2 is not defined."
This happen after I have chosen to import a whole folder, browsed for the source and destination folders in thi Image Resizer and chosen OK. i get no gallery.

All these things worked fine in my older version of Lightbox. I'm running DW CS6 on a Win7 64 bit machine. Do you need any other information Teodor?

Hi Thordur,
Is this happening when the extension is installed using DMXzone Extension Manager? Or are you using Adobe EM?
Please try reinstalling the extension.
