Hi there

When I change the database table on the server, adding a new field and changing the name of another, I can't then update that table in the Server Connect Database Insert builder window.

There is a refresh button but nothing happens when I click it. The fields in the table shown in the window stay the same. I tried removing the table from the window and adding again, but still the same. Then I tried removing the Database Insert step from the Server Action and saving the action, then adding in a new Database Insert step, but when I add the table in the builder window again, it's still showing the old talbe fields.

Have I done something wrong or is this a bug?

Update:

Tried restarting Dreaweaver but didn't fix it.

Tried creating a new Action with Database connection and just a query step, but when building the query step and adding the table in that, the table fields were still unchanged.

Then I opened up the database connection step that comes first and clicked the 'Reapply All' button and this finally updated the table fields when I went back to the 'Database Insert' step and opened the builder again.

So I've found a work-around for the problem, but the refresh button in the builder window just doesn't seem to work at all.

Hello Bruce,
This has always been the workflow when add, delete or rename columns in your database:

1. Open the database connection step in server connect
2. Click OK
3. Save the action file.

Then the new structure is being generated and you can see the changes.

Hi Teodor

Thanks for the update on how it works, I don't remember seeing it any videos but I'm sure it's there.
So, what is the refresh button for? Does that refresh something else in the window?

Bruce
