Any idea when we will be able to resize images on upload? Straight uploading doesn't help me much. I'm still struggling with the deprecated server behaviors to use smart image processor. And won't be able to switch until this is updated. I am looking for a very real time frame here? I just need to know if its going to be 2 weeks or 6 months. It doesn't have to be specific, but a general answer would help. Thanks guys!

So October 2015 it was "in the upcoming weeks". Now 27 weeks later and still in the upcoming weeks? Try to prioritize to your clients needs, as we have to as well

Hello Baub,
The Image Processing tool is under development and should be released in the upcoming weeks.
First we are going to release the html5 form validation tool (in a week or two) and then we will have the exact release date for the image processing tool.

Any update on the enabling the smart image processor for the HMTL 5 File uploader.
Although the image preview is nice the extension is pretty useless in a real world environment until this is added. Feel like I wasted my money.

Hello,
Smart Image Processor does not support the new HTML5 File Upload, as it has been developed using the old, deprecated server behaviors.
A new Image Processing tool is coming soon on DMXzone.

of course it won't think I'm done using your extensions too costly - DwZone has all this built in for a very reasonable price

I realy like this tool, already as it is - but file manipulation is also very important. In my case not only the resize element, but also other file manipulation features like all the features in ip2 (overwrite, rename, delete).

Any News?

Are there any template mask examples? It seems pretty obvious but IMHO the description is a bit vague:
  • {name} filename without extension
  • {ext} file extension

Does it mean to rename "file.png" to "picture.png" needs something like {name=picture}.{ext}?
Could you please give some examples?

OK, thanks to Miro, it seems one needs to put {name}{_id}{ext} without a dot before {ext}, correct?

Hello,
{name} returns the name of the uploaded file. If you are uploading a file named "mypicture.jpg" then name will return "mypicture"
If you want to rename it to "picture", just use: "picture{ext}" in the template field (without the quotes)
If you want to have have files renamed to: picture1.jpg, picture2.jpg, picture3.jpg ..... picture999.jpg, then use: "picture{_n}{ext}"

SUGGESTION:
It would be awesome if the upcoming Image Processor would allow one original image to be uploaded, then thumbnails (& other sizes) are dynamically generated on the fly, so that only ONE file sits on the server. WebAssist has this functionality with their Data Bridge > Image Resizer extension.

We are actually now in final stages of the image processor extension and will offer it as preview next week.

Also directly after that the mailer extension is coming up.
