I am going through this tutorial video and have it working for the most part. www.dmxzone.com/go/32768/filtering-a-query-with-text-input
How do I hide results initially? I have tried checking the do not load in the settings but then it doesn't work at all. Displaying 3000+ records initially just really isn't useful.

Hello Brad,
just do not add your get variable in the condition field, when you are setting up the query filter ...

I tried that too ... that was my very first thought as that seemed logical. But having something in there or leaving it out seems to make no difference.

What filter are you using there? Contains or equal to?

Just changed it to equal to and it works as it should. So seems to be related to the 'contains' setting.

Yes, i thought you were using equals to. When contains is used and it is empty, it returns all values.
I will check how to achieve what you need and will post setp-by-step instructions here later.

That will be good for future but for now I am happy with the equals setting. So many things are different with App Connect. Just have to find the new ways of doing things. Like hiding a div if a recordset is empty ...

Usually when people are using contains filter, they want to filter the results that are already on the page, that is why we created the tutorial this way.
As for hiding divs, when query is empty ... this will be possible tomorrow with the new formatter: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGZzW8exuu0

Actually, Im still waiting for a way to do this.
I have a single search form field on a page and a recordset filtered by 'contains' the form field value.
Even with the search field empty it shows all records. I need the recordsets hidden until something is typed into the search field.

Hi Brad,
Select the container, which you want to hide initially. Dynamic Attributes > Display > Show > When: and use the search field as an expression.
