I just wonder. I have the old html data bindings, I've the extended repeater extension. Now you came up with App connect and I am sure it fits more to the server connect UI, but you are repeating creating new extensions/add ons for extensions/add ons that were already there. Like the Data Traversal, all these functions were possible with html5 data-bindings and add ons.
And you asking full price again.
I also have the data bindings formatter, the data-bindings state management, the data-bindings browser properties... will you renew these too and ask full price again?

That would not be very nice and fair to loyal customers. I think there should be some upgrade path for users from html bindings extension and there add-ons to the App connect with future add ons.

I like to read your view on this or other user opinions. We developers/designers don't have unlimited resources!

Hello Hans,
The ptions, integrated in the Extended Repeater, are just one part of the App Traversal addon, and they are included in the Data View component, integrated in it. There are two more components available in it - Data Detail and Data Iterator, which functions have not been available in the Extended Repeater.

While you may think that the UI is the only difference between App Connect and Data Bindings, it is not like that.
App Connect code and logic on the page is totally different from what Data Bindings is using. As App Connect is the successor of Data Bindings, all of the addons should also be rewritten, as the old code is incompatible with the way our new App Connect extension is working.
So, yes there will be fully rewritten, new App Connect addons, offering the options of Formatter, Browser Properties and State Management but also offering more advanced options.

We spent months, developing the App Connect tool, and developing the addons also takes much of development time, and as we value our developers work, the new addons won't be free. We will consider some update pricing, where this is applicable.

Note, that you can continue using HTML5 Data Bindings in your projects, if you do not want to benefit from the advantages of App Connect and its components. If you find purchasing our extensions separately too expensive and do not wish to keep spending money on the new tools released, just take a look at our subscriptions. Subscribing for an year gives you access to all of the new tools, released in this period (and there will be quite many releases during this year).

Thank you Teodor for your answer.

I do understand development time must pay its price. Fair enough. I think it's important for existing users to emphasise the advantages and new things of the App connect Add ons compared to the old ones.
That was/is not clear to me. We can do master/detail and paging one by one also with html data bindings.
From your video's and PR texts it was not clear why doing it with App Connect is better. At least it is not faster doing it. I hope you take this as positive criticism. I'm very pleased how you guys develop and use your extensions in a lot of projects.
I just want to be sure updating/buying is worth it.
And, to finish, I hope you will consider upgrade pricing, if applicable. Keep using the old stuff is an option, but you and I know that your attention and development time will only be in the new stuff.

It would not be wise of us, to stay behind using the old stuff. So in a way, we are forced to upgrade, while we have spend quit a few euro's. So in that light, upgrade pricing is a fair deal.
Thank you for listening.

Actually, before the release of the App Connect, we've had quite a lot of posts, describing why is app connect better than html5 data bindings, and one of them was comparing the rendering speed of both - app connect is the absolute winner, when it comes to speed, especially on large data sources.
