Adding a Validate Data step to check to make sure that the value in a form field (ie a userlogin) does not exist in the database does not work. Each time I set it up, the information in the expression column disappears after I save the validation properties. This is getting very frustrating! First I was getting the advertisement that I needed HTML 5 Form Validator every time I would try to add the validate data step. I shouldn't even need this as I am using the more up to date App Connect extension. Now after installing the HTML 5 Form Validator it still doesn't work. Duplicate entries get added to the database with no alert message appearing. When I click Validate Options in the Action Steps panel I see that the value in the Expression column has disappeared again.
I've paid over $500 for the extensions needed to do asp.net coding. Is it too much to expect that they are bug free and working?

Hello Scott,
I already explained you that tere will be an update which will improve the checks and HTML 5 Form Validator won't be required if you already have App Connect Validator. HTML5 Form validator does not impact the validate step functionality, its installation just sets an "installed" flag so that it is no longer marked as required.
As for your issue, i think this is some UI issue with your server action, and not really a missing value in the action file. What i mean is that even if you don't see the value it is being saved in the action file and probably just disappears from the UI when you open the step to edit.
Please add this step and save your server action, then send me the server action file so i can inspect the code generated. The server action is located in: App_Data/ServerConnect/api/ ....
Please send the json file to
