How do I show different images for portrait/landscape orientation or screen size - without loading the larger image on smaller devices?

I'd like it to work the way Lazy Load does - only deploying the correct image for the correct screen size - without weighing down the page load time with images that are hidden.

E.g Show photo 1a - on portrait screens/mobiles devices
and show photo 1b - on landscape screens /larger devices

- I can't see how to add Lazy Load to a Slideshow.
- I've tried Dynamic Attributes > Display > Show - but the larger image is still loaded by the page, even though it cannot be seen.
- I've tried Data > Conditional Region > Device > Orientation but it doesn't seem to work in Slideshow (it may just be for dynamic data).

It's difficult to find photos that look good on both orientations, so I need to find a solution.

I don't want to include multiple slideshows for each orientation or screen size - it's not efficient on the page and will take longer to load.

Is it possible?
If not, is there a workaround?

Unfortunately that's not possible using the App Connect Slideshow extension.
Maybe you can just add two slideshows on the page and show / hide them based on screen sizes.

Is it the same with the App Connect Swiper extension?

With Swiper you can have any content inside the slides (more control), so there it is possible to change the images on different screen sizes.
