Hello Kevin,
you will be able to upload picture if you have the Pure ASP Upload extension. That used with Smart Image Processor will ensure that you can have the picture resized and create a thumbnail from it. After that your filename can be inserted into a database. However the thumbnail name is a bit tricky but not impossible. Just need some tweaking of the code.
