Hello, and thanks for a great extension.
I'm hoping you can update the manual for the latest version, in the interim, could you explain what the spam protection validation option is?

Hello David.

It's a simple check for a certain value in a hidden field set with javascript. It is based on the fact that most of the bots cannot execute a javascript. However there is a limitation for users without Javascript enabled as well.
This is something we are still working on.

Isn't it better to add CAPTCHA possibility to the extension?

Well CAPTCHA is also not bullet proof as well requires some graphical components presented on the web server to get it to work.

if you do have a good CAPTCHA solution we can always check it out.

Take a look here:

It is not developed any more but I think it is good enough and it DOES NOT REQUIRE server image component. It is limited in what it can display but the three styles are good enough for me.

This seems actually much better CAPTCHA service and it is free: recaptcha.net/

So I will check it out if it is easy to integrate.

Has any work been done with regards to integrating recaptcha.net with this form validation. We get 4 to 5 bot submissions a day with the current solution. We did have a recaptcha soltuion working one point but it was broken by the 1.5 release. This added feature would be a BIG help.

Hello Cain,

What is done so far is to allow you to check a field value against a session variable. The recaptcha.net script provides SESSION variable you can check a field against.
