At present I can only insert an entry with date if it is in 2011-08-27 how can I allow date entry like this 27-08-2011

There are several date formats that you can use. You can set one in the calendar options under General tab.

I have tried that. Just in case I tried it again and here is the result :
Incorrect datetime value: '30-08-2011 06.09.00' for column 'start' at row 1
and this
Incorrect datetime value: '09/09/2011 12.00.00' for column 'start' at row 1

Any ideas?
