All seems OK in Safari, Firefox and Chrome on Mac, Mac Parallels and PC running Windows 7 Ultimate. Only problem is there's no login popup window when using IE10 (key activation: ctrl+shift+2). This problem occurs on both Mac Parallels and PC versions. Unfortunately this is my client's browser of choice!

Hi Vulcho,

Yes, here's the link to the problem page:

www.cheshirescientific.co.uk/newsite/

I'm using the standard login details - ctrl+shift+2

It should work OK in all browsers apart from IE10 - The editable div is the "NEWS UPDATE" panel and you'll notice I've adapted the pencil.png graphic so that it appears within the dotted line (because the "NEWS" panel has overflow:auto, and so hides the pencil unless it's inside the div). There's an issue with this on log-out from the editor with the pencil appearing in the top left corner of the browser window which then needs a page refresh to hide it.

Thanks Vulcho, Bill

Hi Vulcho,

Just tested on Windows XP - the editor works on all browsers except Internet Explorer 8. I've tried everything including stripping the page down to include just the editor, as well as turning off pop ups etc. and still no login window. So both IE8 and IE10 are not working for me... I'll see if I can find a version of IE9 to try it on.

Cheers, Bill

Hi Vulcho,

Sorry it wasn't working earlier, I've performed a complete reinstall and it's all working OK apart from on Internet Explorer (versions 8 and 10 tested on different computers).

As this is a reinstall you'll see there's no pencil icon after login. This is because the div overflow is set to auto (or hidden), but if you hover over the top left corner you can still log in. I now know I can set .dmxPageEditorIcons to top:0px !important; however there's still the problem of the pencil icon moving to the top left corner of the browser window on log out (using the key combination ctrl+shift+2) - requiring a page refresh.

Hello Bill.

Check your e-mail and replace your current file with the one attached. This will fix the IE8 and IE10 problems.

About the overflow problems that you are receiving.
Please go to www.cheshirescientific.co.uk/newsite/styles/dmxPageEditor.css line 7

and edit the following rule that way:
.dmxActivator {
    border: 1px dashed #CCCCCC;
    overflow: visible !important;
    position: relative;
}

You will be able to mantain the scrollbar in your layout when logged out , and you will still be able to open the editor and the interface.

Hi Vulcho,

A question regarding the jquery-latest.pack.js you sent me to fix the IE10 login problem.

Did you customise this file to fix an issue which was unique to my problem page? The reason I ask is that I have just installed AjaxForm on a different page which has by default overwritten the jquery-latest.pack.js (version you sent me) which was already on the server - which in turn has disabled the login popup in IE.

I have since replaced the jquery-latest.pack.js with the one you sent me and all works OK, including AjaxForm but I worry that this will happen again in the future if I install other DMX extensions. Also I guess it means I cannot link to the "latest" jquery library on Google APIs which is very useful for various other functions.

Thanks, Bill

Thanks Vulcho, I'll carry on using the file you sent.

Unfortunately I've encountered another problem involving Internet Explorer.

I've installed the Page Editor to include purePHPUpload however the function to browse for images does not work in IE - it works in other browsers.

This is so frustrating as I need to demo this to my client today. I'd really appreciate if you could have a look at this ASAP.

Thanks for your help,
Bill

Hi,

I've also been experiencing this same scenario of not being able to login using IE10. Works on all other browsers. Haven't tried IE8 yet though.

I've reinstalled the editor to get it to work but no luck.

It was all working before. Is there a common issue here and what is the fix for this?

The page in question is www.staticboatholidays.com

Lee

Do you have an update on a release addressing this issue? I have clients who are tied to IE10 and therefore unable to use the Editor so this compatibility issue is resulting in lost project opportunities for me :-(

Hellooooooo??? We were promised a fix for IE 10 by the end of August. I bought a lot of add-ons and really need this resolved since I cannot offer any of the CMS functionality to my clients because most of them are using IE 10 and do not want to switch.

A response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello ,
we are sorry for the delay on this, but as you all know we were all busy making the feature available for you in our new extensions.
So, to the point, the problem with IE10 is due to a simple modal used as login component not displayed in IE10, here (right-click -> Save as...) you will download a new version of the jquery.simplemodal.min.js which to substitute in your ScriptLibrary folder. Also make sure to keep a backup of that file.

Something that was pointed out to me was the order of the files in the Header. Make sure <script type="text/javascript" src="ScriptLibrary/require.js"></script> is ABOVE the jQuery file
If the order is not correct the login will not show.

Are you using the DMX plugin/extensions in a template?
Why not try setting it up from scratch in a new project and replace the Modal file? If this works you know fixing your project is just a matter of tweaking it.
