I've got the DB Updater working at last with my update form on a XAMPP local testing server, but I don't see any alert or success messages to indicate that the record has been updated properly. I'm using a master - detail setup with a separate detail page.

Is it possible to apply the Control Responsive Notify behavior using the update button that has the Updater Action already attached? Not sure if this will interfere. I have tried it but it seems to write extra code in the jQuery dmxDatabaseAction code block at the bottom of the page.
But there is only a success message.

You should apply the responsive notify, using the behaviors in the Server Action Executor, not on the button itself.

Success & Error messages.
Deselected the Options > Alert Errors checkbox.
