George,

I appreciate you posting a response, but I'd also appreciate you not locking the topic. Suppose I have a question? Suppose what you suggested doesn't work for me?

So am I to assume the topic you pointed me to, that the solution is the "workaround" you suggested? Why do I have to do a workaround? Why can't this be fixed?

And again, I will ask, are there, or can you post INSTRUCTIONS on how to use Adv. HTML editor2, SIP 2 and PAU3 together? (You didn't answer this in the other post, and you locked the topic, forcing me to ask again).

If you have any questions ask them but please do not open new topic for already asked questions (just post into the already opened topics).
I will also kindly direct you once again to read the forum rules :
www.dmxzone.com/forum/topic.asp?topic_id=38943
(Please, turn special attention to the <b>Rule two: No Spamming!!!</b>

Also, before posting into bug forum please comply with the following template:

This issue can and will be fixed in the next update of the extension. Because, currently there is not scheduled particular date for this update (and I do not have information when it will be issued) I have provide the workaround. So, you can still use the functionality until the new update is issued.

If you check the official page of Advanced HTML Editor 2 you will see that it does not work with SIP2.
(There is written <b>Smart Image Processor ASP version 1.x</b> which mean only the initial version of Smart Image Processor).
Therefore, at this point Adv HTML Editor 2 can be used only with SIP (not SIP2) and PAU3 and PAU.

I hope this answer to your questions.

For the record - I didn't spam...I accidentally hit the submit button twice. Your forum should disable the submit button after it's clicked so accidents wouldn't happen.

I must admit, I take some offense to being accused of spamming. Further, I need to follow a "template" just to ask a question!??

I'm just a customer who's paid good money for many DMXzone products trying to get some help.

I will try your workaround.

I am sorry that you felt offended.
We give our best to improve the support of our extensions. But, there have to be some rules for better customer experience with our support forums. And we cannot find out when the rules have been violated by accident and when it has been done on purpose.

About the "template" it should be followed only for the posts into the <b>Bug forums</b> (where your initial topics were posted).
You can freely ask questions concerning the extensions into the <b>General</b> section of the support forums.

I you have any other questions or problem do not hesitate to contact us.

Well, maybe not <i>per se</i>, but you certainly can make the potential problem of bouncy mouse buttons irrelevant (at least for those who have not disabled JavaScript), and David even told you how, in the very post you quoted:
<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>For the record - I didn't spam...I accidentally hit the submit button twice. <b>Your forum should disable the submit button after it's clicked so accidents wouldn't happen.</b><hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>
It&rsquo;s not hard. Set the button’s <font face='Courier New'>.disabled</font id='Courier New'> property as the first task on button click or form submit events (preferrably on click). Neither David nor I should have to be telling an expert Dreamweaver extensions maker (which requires advanced JavaScript knowledge, including the web browser implementations) such as yourself this sort of thing.

Alternatively, you could always before doing the Insert Record check if another record already existed with the same or similar data (submitter, subject, body) that had been inserted less than a second or so ago (to stop bouncy mice). Or minutes or hours or days, if you want to stop those who would deliberately multi-post. This is simple SQL <font face='Courier New'>SELECT</font id='Courier New'> stuff here. This method would work even for those who have JavaScript disabled.

Of course, the best solution, as with any form submission validation, is to always do <i>both</i> client-side (disabling the Submit button in this case) <i>and</i> server-side (blocking duplicate inserts) validation. The client-side gives a better and more efficient user experience and can prevent unnecessary server hits, while the server-side acts as a fallback in case the client-side fails for whatever reason (usually disabled or non-supported JavaScript but also would block those who deliberately and maliciously bypass the client-side validation [<i>e.g.</i> spambots]).

Hi Joel,

Thank you for your feedback.
Unfortunately, currently I cannot make any changes to the forum functionality.
But, we could implement some of your suggestions when we schedule an update for the support forum.

Until then, you just have to be careful when you click at the Post New Reply button.

Please, accept my apologizes for the inconvenience.
