Hi guys,

Tried about 10 different RSS feeds from different places. None of them will show all of the feed?

Sometimes I can get titles, sometimes links, never the date, etc. I have yet to get a feed to show all of the data? I watched the tutorial video (last.fm) one and I am doing everything right.

It just will not show all of the information no matter what.

Hi Brad,

Some questions to clarify your situation:
  1. Were those some of the supplied feeds or a custom ones?
  2. What is the exact feed url generated in your code?
  3. What exactly didn't you get - all the entries or missing fields? Which fields were missing one?
  4. There might be paging in place ... so then you get only once page at the time. Did you use also a Feed Genie Repeater?

I have the same problem. I set up a page with all bindings available. You can see the empty and zeros.

Ah yes but that is by design. Not all feed supply all the listed fields. So this strongly depends on the feed you are using.

The data bindings provides you just a quickly list of all available options - but by all means those can be empty if the feed does not contain them!

Most global feed properties like title, link, author are usually filled so you can reply on those. But all the others are optional and really feed dependent.

Hi George,

They are custom without paginator. (Tried the Twitter one and it didn't work either) Here is some I tried:

blog.lawryk.com/feed/
rss.cbc.ca/lineup/technology.xml
www.tsn.ca/datafiles/rss/Stories.xml

In each of these three feeds I can only get one actual element to show up. One the title works, One the link works and one only the name of the feed works.

I cannot get more than one element to show up for any RSS feed I have tried.

Hi Brad,

Did you add a Feed Genie Repeater? Otherwise you will have just one record yes.

It works like a recordset - you do need to repeat region to display all the data - in this case the Feed Genie Repeater.

I suggest you review the manual for the extension at www.dmxzone.com/go?17884

Yes, I know about the repeater ... thats not the problem.

The problem is that I can't retrieve all of the info from even one record. Repeating it simply repeats that one field that actually works.

I have never been able to get a date to show at all on any feed. It's always '-1' for some reason. Some RSS Feeds will allow me to show the article title but not a link to it. Some will give me the link, but no content that I can apply the link to.

Basically I only get one bindable value per RSS feed.

All my feeds are RSS 2.0.

When I test the feed, it shows in the preview window, however when I drag the link onto the page and preview it in the browser, I do not see anything.

My feed.totalResults is Zero.

Am I doing something wrong?

I had submitted a tech problem and the emailed response I received was to upgrade my copy of FeedGenie to the Latest version 1.0.4
The code on my page said version 1.0.3, but my Dreamweaver CS5 extension list said I was at 1.0.4. So I removed the extn, downloaded FeedGenie v1.0.4 and installed it. Guess what, when it installs code on the page, it says the version is 1.0.3. SO. Either you have the WRONG version of code in your download Package labeled version 1.0.4, OR, someone forgot to update the internal code comments. What is it? Do I have the wrong version. It is flaky. Sometime it works, sometime it does not list the feed. Same thing, just try 10 times and then it may work.
Love your products, and this one should save me time, but can be frustrating.
