Longhorn home server on the way
Computer software giant Microsoft will release the beta version of its long-talked-about Longhorn Server in August, at about the same time that it releases the beta for the Longhorn desktop OS, Senior Vice President Bob Muglia said earlier this week in an online chat. Microsoft stated that the Longhorn Server platform for home use would be designed to help users manage the increasing amounts of audio and video content that they are storing on their PCs. The OS is supposed to be more secure, more reliable and offer better data organization. Microsoft is also working on a new file system, called the Windows Windows File System (WinFS).
