New Macromedia Flash Player Public Beta
Macromedia has released a new Flash Player Public Beta. This Public Beta is a pre-release version of the next major release of Flash Player. It is being made available for developers and consumers to test their content to ensure existing content plays back correctly and that there are no compatibility issues.
This release is for Windows 98 and later and Macintosh OS X 10.1 and later. You can help Macromedia to ensure that this release will be of the highest quality by installing and using these players. If you encounter any issues you can fill out this form.
It's been only a few days since the new Flash player beta has been out and already we have:
- A working demo of blending modes
- A demo of progressive JPG/GIF/PNG loading
- A bunch of people discovering that AsSetPropFlags doesn't work
- A new MTASC hack on OSFlash to add a v8 header
- An external tool to inject the v8 header should you not use MTASC/know how to use an hex editor
