Last rites for OS/2 Warp
Big blue has announced that OS2 Warp 4, introduced in 1996 to quit production for the operating system.
Originally released in 1987 and last updated in 1996, OS/2 has long since presumed dead by most users. Indeed, there are fewer than 80 shops left with more than 10 active OS/2 licenses. IBM is recommending that customers still using OS/2 begin migrating to Linux.
Allas there will be no more free support for the operating system, only users that pay a fee will continue to get support.
