Google Exploring Online Book Rentals
Google is investigating methods where its users could rent online copies of books for one week. According to the plans, users can read the books for one week for the price of one tenth of the book. Initially books cannot be printed or stored but this is considered using a try before you buy concept. According to the plansGoogle is looking for ways to make the Google Print service more attractive to publishers.
Google's online book service has been the target of much criticism from both authors and publishers. They took the company to te court with the suspicion of massive copyright infringement. However, Google is determined to press on, they anounced this month that they had made 10,000 books in the public domain available online in their entirety earlier.
