Maxell presents holographic media with 1.6TB storage capacity
Maxell and InPhase are bringing revolutionary holographic media technology to the market in the second half of 2006. Storage capacities are 1.6 TeraBytes per disk and data rates are as high as 120 MBPs. The companies also claim a 50+ year media archive life and random data access. Which makes the media a compelling choice for storage and archival requirements. The media is expected to have the lowest cost per gigabyte of any commercial quality removable storage.
