W3C publishes multimedia specification for mobile use
The World Wide Web Consortium has published a new specification for the development of multimedia presentations on mobile phones. The Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL 2.1) lets developers create interactive presentations in an easy way.
The technology is based on XML and delivers better presentation- and multimedia possibilities. Development and maintenance will be more effective and the SMIL-presentations use less storage space.
