First impressions of Adobe Lightroom beta

Ars Technica has written a good first impression of the beta of Adobe Lightroom which available now. Lightroom has many similarities with Aperture, but this program has clearly been in development for a while. Some are things (like the navigator) that have been in early Photoshop versions.

The public beta is Mac only for now but the Windows beta should be coming within the next couple of months.

Lightroom builds on the current Adobe Camera Raw technology so there should be no surprises in the quality or color/contrast rendering. There's no word yet on the pricing of Lightroom; given the competition (Aperture, primarily), chances are it's going to be $500 or under.
