Sparkle Preview

Microsoft has released a Community Technology Preview of the Interactive Designer, codenamed "Sparkle". The project has arguably been named Flash-Killer in the media, because it enables the creation of rich 2D & 3D graphics, animation and a dynamic layout. The software also enables data binding, style & template editing, and resource management.

This release of Expression Interactive Designer is a great way to experiment and begin familiarizing yourself with the tool, but Microsoft does not recommend using it for production work.
