Thomson Financial: Who needs human reporters?
Computer generated reports have at Thomson Financial's have resulted in accurate lightening-quick earnings stories.
Thomson says that computer scribes can spit out an earnings story of any company in 0.3 seconds after the results have been made public.
The computer takes the current financial figures and automatically compares them with the data of previous years to determine how a company fared in a quarter.
Although computers are faster and more acurate then any human reporter it remains unclear how a PC will stand up to accusations of a liberal bias.
