Google Earth gets Featured Content
Google announced the addition of Featured Content for Google Earth, which consists of multimedia overlays from different content providers such as National Geographic, the Jane Goodall Institute, the US National Park Service, Discovery Networks, and the United Nations Environmental Program.
Google says the goal of the featured content is to educate. "We are excited to provide users with the opportunity to learn more about the natural wonders and manmade landmarks of the world with featured content for Google Earth," according to the director of Google Earth and Maps, John Hanke.
