Real cost of the $100 OLPC almost $1000!

OLPC news has made an interesting calculation that estimates the real cost of the so called $100 laptop. The site argues that we're still missing key components for success of the OLPC experiment.

When important things like training costs, hardware maintenance, software maintenance, Internet Access are calculated, the total bill will fit to almost $972 for 5 years. Still an acceptable figure for a developed country but not for a 3rd world country I suppose as they calculated about one third of the cost...
