New Worm-Stopping Technology invented
Researchers at Penn State University developed anti-malware technology which identifies and contains worms in milliseconds. This Proactive Worm Containment focuses on analyzing packet rate and frequency of connections, rather than signature or pattern identification like many other security technologies do.
This worm-killer can also fix its own mistakes. It's designed to unblock any mistakenly blocked hosts.
The technology is currently in a testing period but the university has already filed a patent for the technology.
