Flash CS4 Sneak Peek
JonnyMac reported that at FITC Hollywood Richard Galvan, Adobe Flash Product Manager, shed some light on the upcoming Flash CS4 "Diesel". The next version of the Flash IDE will feature a brand new timeline animation model - frameless Flash animation.

These corrections will allow users to select an object on the stage, right-click and choose "Add Motion/Shape Tween", and the timeline layer of the object will turn red to signify that it contains a tween. Then users can move the object in order to animate its motion and create the end state. If they want to extend the length of the tween, they just drag the timeline layer out over additional frames. Basically, this model completely fixes broken tweens since it is missing a keyframe.
Another cool feature associated with this is that when users move the object to the end state, a dotted line shows up along the path of the tween, showing them exactly where the object is going to move to. If they want to change the path, they just move the object and the line automatically updates. If they want to adjust the line, they do it just like any other curved line in Flash/Illustrator making it more rounded, or increase the length by adjusting the end point to their liking.
An other addition is the Transform tool which is used it to squish/expand or otherwise transform a tween path.
