ColdFusion 8 Review
Macworld published an informative review of Adobe ColdFusion 8.
"On a high level, ColdFusion is one of the most comprehensive database tools in years – but it’s so much more. It’s a presentation package, a programming language, a means of producing and editing PDFs and images, and it’s available for every major platform," says the author of the article, David Bradforth.
The author starts with a concise introduction, listing the pros and cons, the minimal hardware specifications required to execute normally, and the price of the different forms users can buy it:
- Pros: Integrates well with other Adobe applications – particularly Dreamweaver CS3 and Acrobat, Offers excellent ability to manipulate PDF files
- Cons: Enterprise Edition is expensive, as a programming language it’s not fully object-orientated
After a short history review of the 12-year-old CF, Bradforth talks all about manipulating the PDFs with CF8. He also gives a buying advice to CF8 users, depending on their needs.
Interesting is that the site, as well as the review page itself, are powered by ColdFusion.
