Windows 7 ISO Verifier to be packed with Windows 7
Check if an ISO image of Windows 7 is valid
A blogger and developer Long Zheng has created a small application designed to verify that a Microsoft Windows 7 image download is not modified.
Sometimes users download their Windows images from unofficial sources, and that means they might end up downloading files containing backdoors, viruses, or spyrware instead of the actual disk image they were looking for. This application determines whether or not the download is legit before one try to run it.
In order to verify Windows 7 ISO image files, one just needs to drag the disc image over to the Windows 7 ISO Verifier, or either launch the application and choose the image from a browse dialog. After the verification is complete the application will notify the user if the ISO is valid, even the version of the installment. If the image is not legit, then the user is notified that the image was not recognized as valid, thus avoiding eventual infection of the system.
According to many different sources the RTM (release-to-manufacturing) version of Microsoft Windows 7 (formerly known as Blackcomb and Vienna) is scheduled for 13th of July this year, while the official date of the final release according to the Redmond company is set for the holiday shopping of 2009.
