Slide Layer

This behavior makes a layer slide to a specified position in the browser window.
It is possible to choose between:

  • sliding at constant speed, an
  • sliding at gradually decreasing speed.

The sliding speed is adjustable to your needs in both sliding options.

Furthermore, it is possible to choose between:

  • absolute movement, where the layer slides to a specified left/top position, and
  • relative movement, where the layer slides a given number of pixels left/right/up/down in relation to its current position.

Marja Ribbers-de VroedWell, what's there to tell?

I worked as a software engineer for a well-known Dutch software company for about 10 years. But then I decided I did not want to work there anymore.
Since then, I've been working with my husband in our own company.

I "discovered" web development early 2000, and I soon found out that I could actually create my own extra (DHTML) features in Dreamweaver by building custom extensions.
My first extension was Cross-browser AutoScroller, but I've developed several other ones since then.

This was just what i needed and it works great... except for the file i initially wanted to build it in. There it doesn't work and i got no idea why?

If you send me an URL to the offending page, I can take a look for you and maybe help you find out what's wrong.

This is so greast ... works perfectly, is very customizable, and was extremely easy to use. Thank you so much!

Works Great! Have Question

This is indeed a great little extension.  I was wondering if sliding these layers into place could be done as the page first comes up to create the effect of objects coming from different angles and all ending up right together.
