Update Layer Genie scripts to latest version
March 16, 2004 by Marja Ribbers-de Vroed

How can I update existing Layer Genie scripts to the latest version?

Layer Genie writes its scripts in an externally linked JavaScript file, but that way Dreamweaver can't update the scripts automatically.
To enable you to update existing Layer Genie implementations, Layer Genie comes with a separate command to do that:

  1. Open a page that uses Layer Genie.
  2. Select "Layer Genie - Update Scripts" from the DMXzone flyout in the Commands menu.
  3. Upload the updated JS file to your webserver.

Marja Ribbers-de VroedWell, what's there to tell?

I worked as a software engineer for a well-known Dutch software company for about 10 years. But then I decided I did not want to work there anymore.
Since then, I've been working with my husband in our own company.

I "discovered" web development early 2000, and I soon found out that I could actually create my own extra (DHTML) features in Dreamweaver by building custom extensions.
My first extension was Cross-browser AutoScroller, but I've developed several other ones since then.
