New UltraCart Server Behaviors
It has been quiet around UltraCart - the shoppingcart system for Ultradev - for a while. But not anymore! Joseph Scavitto seems to have picked up the development of the cart; he now offers additional server behaviors to use with the UltraCart for sale at his website.
The UltraCart has been free for download, but PowerClimb - the developer of UltraCart 1 - has never updated the extension afterwards. The community needed extra features for the cart but there was no one who could offer them for free to the community. And that is very understandable, because developing extensions is a hell of a job and takes lots of time.
Joseph showed the community before that he is a real shopping cart expert and offered several additional extensions (including the very much needed bugfix for Ultradev 4) for free. However, some revenue is needed to garuantee future additional extensions: Joseph is developing UltraCart 2 at the moment!
That's why the new server behaviors are for sale at his website for $35.00 US. It's a very low price when you are aware of how much time it takes to develop these extensions. And they'll save you lots of time!
The suite contains several shipping, tax, discount and add to cart server behaviors. Joseph also offers 2 other commercial extensions for UltraCart called Transfer Cart and Reconstitute Cart.

Is UltraCart 2 going to support PHP Phakt ?
If ultracart 2 supports PHP Phakt Server Model I will buy this
If not I won't buy becouse Charon has Cart much more than UltraCart 1 but this is only for ASP model (and it's free of course)

RE: Is UltraCart 2 going to support PHP Phakt ?
I don't expect it to support PHP. That's a totally different language ;-).
We've seen with UC 1 that it's impossible to support all the languages, especially when the cart shouldn't be too expensive.
I think your judgement is a littelbit too quick. Why not first wait and see what UC2 has got to offer?
RE: Is UltraCart 2 going to support PHP Phakt ?
yea you right maybe my judgement is too quick
but PHP is much more similar to ASP than CF or JSP and it will be great to support PHP in UltraCart 2
RE: RE: Is UltraCart 2 going to support PHP Phakt ?
The only support so far will be ASP vb/js if it goes well then I will add other models.
