The browser has been in beta since February of 2009 and introduced a number of user interface changes that proved to be highly contentious. The most polarizing of these was the decision to place browsing tabs pointing upwards and invading the title bar area. This, plus the decision to remove the loading progress bar, set off the Safari userbase, but some of those tweaks have now been changed.

Google released Chrome for Mac OS X and Linux but only in rough developer preview versions that the company warns are works in progress. Google also warned that in order to get more feedback from developers, they have early developer channel versions of Google Chrome for Mac OS X and Linux, but whatever you do, please DON'T DOWNLOAD THEM.

The technology, previously code-named Meer Meer, was shown last year at the company's Max developer conference. Microsoft has finally given the public Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. The SP2 is available for download at the Microsoft Download Center and if you have any beta versions of SP2 installed, they must be uninstalled prior to installing the final version.
